Snow Day: Tolland Public Schools Closed Friday, March 8

Because of the snow that fell overnight and that is predicted to fall during the day, the public school students and staff will have an unexpected three-day weekend.

It's official: students and staff of the Tolland Public Schools will have an extended weekend.

A little after 5 a.m., the superintendent made the call, along with dozens of his peers throughout northern Connecticut, to close school today, Friday, March 8, because of the inclement weather.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow will continue to fall today, adding another two to four inches to what's already on the ground, bringing the total amount of wet, heavy snow up to eight inches. A winter weather advisory will remain in effect until 1 p.m. Friday.
