THS Announces Class of '17 Valedictorian, Salutatorian
Jacob Wasserstein is the class Salutatorian, and the Valedictorian is Corey Jalbert.
From THS: Dominique Fox, Principal of Tolland High School (THS), is proud to announce the Class of 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
Class Salutatorian, Jacob Wasserstein

Jacob consistently demonstrates a high level of intellectual curiosity and is actively engaged in both his school and local community. In his senior year, he has served as the Vice-President for the Mark Twain Chapter of the National Honor Society. Jacob also serves as the co-editor of our school’s yearbook and captain of our JETS/TEAM program. In the Tolland community, he has been a volunteer buddy for the TOPS soccer program since his freshman year. Jacob has earned numerous academic excellence awards while at Tolland High School, specifically in Economics, Honors English III, United States History, Honors Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, AP Calculus and the Senior Award in both Mathematics and Science. He was selected as the school’s recipient of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendent’s Award and named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Jacob will be attending Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and majoring in both Mathematics and Economics. Congratulations Jacob!

Class Valedictorian, Corey Jalbert

Corey is an extremely bright young man who has challenged himself academically and consistently earned the highest of marks. At Tolland High School, he has been involved in our school’s DECA chapter. As a finalist in the Principals of Finance category at the state level and as a second place finisher in the Connecticut Stock Market Game, Corey demonstrates a high level of business savvy and sense. During his four years at Tolland High School, he has earned numerous academic excellence awards, specifically in Honors Geometry, Honors English 2, Biology, Honors Algebra 2, and Psychology. Not only was he was selected as a Finalist in the Connecticut Governor’s Scholar Awards program as a junior, he was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Corey plans on pursuing a degree in both Economics and Mathematics and participating as an intercollegiate swimmer at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. Congratulations Corey!
