Tolland To Acquire Weigold Property For Open Space
Tolland is about to make a hefty open space acquisition.

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland is primed to acquire the Weigold property as public land in what will be a major open space addition to the town.
The Tolland Town Council unanimously endorsed the move Tuesday night.
Town Manager Michael Rosen has been directed to formulate a purchase and sale agreement with the owner — The Weigold Living Trust — in consultation with the municipal legal staff.

The agreement is a mere formality because the cost will be zero dollars.
The sizable parcel features streams and small lakes and a variety of terrain.

The Conservation Commission and Land Acquisition Advisory Committee have been reviewing the parcel in Executive Session for two years and both have given recommendations for the acquisition, town officials said.
The idea is to keep it as open space in perpetuity, Rosen said.
