Tolland Auto Salvage Yard A Perfect Setting For Crash Training
The Tolland Fire Department and Bill's Auto Parts have teamed up for training many times over the years.

TOLLAND, CT — An auto parts salvage yard in Tolland has been providing the perfect setting for fire department extrication and crash scene training over the years.
That was quite evident one night this week when the Tolland Fire Department paid a visit to Bill's used auto parts yard on Tolland Stage Road.
"There are many ways to stabilize a vehicle after a crash and we sometimes need to think outside the box to make it happen," fire officials said. "Working on real vehicles in a low pressure setting is great to establish a base of knowledge for our firefighters."

Tolland Fire Chief John Littell said Bill's has been a "great partner" over the years by making the auto salvage yard accessible for fire training sessions.
"We're fortunate to have Bill's here," he said. "It's the perfect setting to train for any type of crash."

Tolland gets its share of crashes along a notorious hilly stretch of Interstate-84 between exits 67 and 69.
Tolland fire officials offered a glance at the training in a Twitter post:
