NEW HAVEN, CT — Four records were broken, including one which had stood for 17 years, as the Class M indoor track and field championships were decided Saturday evening at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.

Leah Moore of Hillhouse shattered the girls shot put record by more than a foot and a half with a heave of 41 feet, 11.75 inches. The previous record of 40-4.5 had been held by Lacey-Ann Parker of Ledyard since 2003.

Elise Russell of Weston pole vaulted 12 feet, 2 inches to best the 2017 record of AmyErin Zadroga of Tolland by two inches. Tianna St. Louis of Tolland cleared 5 feet, 6.5 inches in the high jump, erasing the 5-6.25 record set last year by Patricia Mroczkowski of Berlin.
