Tolland Lacrosse Drops One to Avon
Tolland High School Coach Victor Hurtuk provides a summary of the Saturday game against Avon, which the Eagles lost, 7-5

The #14 Avon Falcons traveled to Tolland to face the Eagles on Saturday, with both teams coming off strong victories earlier in the week.
Tolland was able to play strong and disciplined defense to hold the Falcons to limited quality shots. Avon held only a 2 goal advantage at the half leading 3-1. The Eagles were able to chip in goals and pull the game to within 1, but Avon was able to hold onto the victory.
Taylor Maniatty led all scorers with a hat trick while Colin Moore was able to chip in a pair, both for Avon. Tolland played strong team lacrosse and had pivotal goals by Sean Walker, Peter Mayer, and Geoff Desmarais. Cody Daigle was a strong feeder in the contest. Sam Mayer was the defensive beast making 16 saves.

It was a chess match the entire game, but Avon eventually earned checkmate at the final buzzer. The Eagles had a chance to pull the game close in the waning minutes when they had a 2 man-up opportunity but the Falcons created a turnover and burned the remaining time.
