Tolland Obituary: Dennis Norris, 44

On Monday, April 23, 2018, Dennis H. Norris, 44, peacefully entered into eternal life.

Born on July 13, 1973, he was the son of David and Mary (Henry) Norris of Newington. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School where he excelled on the swim team, academics, Boy Scouts Troop 105, and perfect attendance throughout his primary education. He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree from Trinity College and pursued a career in technology.

He was currently employed as a software architect with Conventus where his creative spirit allowed him to give life to his work. Whatever he approached, he did with passion and with a charismatic brilliance that matched his presence and generous personality. His gregarious and social nature allowed him to easily make friends and connections with anyone he came into contact with.

As much as he could be the life of any social gathering, he was also able to appreciate and enjoy the simplicity and solitude of nature, be it out fishing or enjoying a good book at the beach.

Aside from his parents, left to honor and cherish his memory are his children, Rachel, Brandon, and Jacob Norris, his longtime girlfriend Michelle Plamondon of West Hartford, his siblings Alexander Norris and his wife Jennifer of Glastonbury and Ashley Lundgren and her husband Stephen of Tolland, nieces and nephews, his former wife Dawn Norris of Vernon, and will be missed by hundreds of friends he has made throughout his journey.

His life and funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 2, at 10:00 AM, meeting directly at Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St. Newington. Interment will follow the Mass at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to call for visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington.
