
Duane A. Jones, Sr., 67, of Tolland, beloved husband of 47 years to Deborah (Maselek) Jones, passed away suddenly in Maine on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
Born in Caribou, Maine, the son of Margaret (Thompson) Jones of Ellington and the late Elwood Jones, he grew up and lived in Vernon before moving to Tolland over 40 years ago. Duane proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he served two tours in the war.
He owned and operated Jones & Son Builders, LLC in Tolland. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Duane was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose favorite pastime was spending time with his family. His wife, children and grandchildren were his life.

In addition to his wife who was the love of his life, and his mother, Duane is survived by his children, his son and best friend Duane (DJ) Jones, Jr. and his wife Laura of Tolland, and Nicole Dillon (his peanut) of Wethersfield; five grandchildren, who he adored, Jacob and Lindsey Jones, and Kyle, Sydney, and Kayden Dillon; his brother, Robert Jones and his wife Carol of FL; his sister, Sandra Booth and her husband Ed of Tolland, and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 12 - 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Interment will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery, Vernon with military honors.
