Tolland Obituary: Steve Tedford, 63

Steve S. Tedford, 63, of Tolland, beloved husband of 43 years to Sonia (Collins) Tedford, passed away Wednesday March 21, 2018 with his family by his side.

He was born June 29, 1954 in Hartford to Ronald and Irene (White) Tedford. Steve was employed by the Town of West Hartford and previously at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 30 years. He was very involved with the Town of Tolland as a coach for youth sports and was their Umpire-in-Chief for years. He loved spending time outside and enjoyed doing yard work at the house he built.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son; Jake Tedford of Vernon, his daughter; Jamie Tedford of Vernon; his granddaughter (his Baby Girl) Lauren Tedford, his brother ; Ron Tedford and his wife Margaret of Australia, his sister; Kim McCarthy and her husband Tim of Vermont and his mother-in-law; Lorraine Collins, who resides with the family. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Steve was predeceased by his mother Irene.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the ICU at Rockville General Hospital for the compassionate care given to Steve.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd, Tolland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00am.
