Tolland Officials Issue Coronavirus Advisory

TOLLAND, CT — With Tolland in the Red Alert category in terms of state coronavirus statistics, an official advisory message was issued Thursday by Tolland Town Manager Michael Rosen and Emergency Management Director John Littell.

Thursday's chart issued by Gov. Ned Lamont showed Tolland with 43 confirmed positive tests from Oct. 25 through Nov. 7. That's an average of 21 per 100,000 people, six beyond the cutoff number.

Here is the advisory:

"We are aware that the public health data the Town of Tolland is provided indicates a material increase in the risk of community spread of COVID-19 within our region over the past number of weeks.

"This aligns with observations made state-wide by the State Department of Public Health. With few exceptions, many communities are experiencing this rise in the prevalence of COVID-19 cases.

"Wearing your mask, maintaining physical separation, avoiding gatherings, and washing your hands frequently cannot be over emphasized. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, please maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, stay within your social group, avoid crowds, wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and please stay home if you are sick.
