Tolland Soars Above Class L Girls Soccer Foes
The Eagles won their first girls soccer state championship in 33 years by shutting out Farmington, 2-0.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — Hannah Storozuk and Lindsey Papa scored goals, while Kelsey Leach did not allow any as Tolland shut out Farmington 2-0 in the championship game of the CIAC Class L girls soccer tournament Sunday at Veterans Stadium in New Britain.
The victory was Tolland's fourth state title, but first since 1985, when the Eagles completed a three-year run as Class S champions.
In addition to Storozuk, Papa and Leach, senior members of the championship squad were Madison Peasley, Kayla McDonald, Liz Deloreto, Eva Riggott, Olivia Cayward, Ally Enman and Gabby Boivin. Juniors were Mia DeMartino, Coral Aponte, Lauren Lovoi, Amy Lumia, Grace Leahy, Sierra Lambert, Samantha Cerra and McKenna Valenti. Sophomores on the roster were Rachel Lee, Brenna Calandra, Sydney Nagardeolekar, Natalie Lyon and Olivia Mathiau, while freshmen were Charlotte Gerow, Alyssa Giroux, Shea Reed and Sophia Rotondaro. The Eagles' head coach is Erin Reed.
