Tolland Strides Near Top of Boys Cross Country Coaches Poll

The Eagles collected a first-place vote en route to a three-place improvement in the most recent balloting of high school coaches.

TOLLAND, CT — Xavier was tabbed first on six of nine ballots to stay atop the latest weekly boys cross country rankings, while Glastonbury reclaimed the top position among the state's girls teams.

The Falcons have topped the boys rankings each week during the regular season, after placing second in the preseason balloting. They are followed this week by Tolland and Hall.

Glastonbury's girls received nine of 10 first-place votes to bounce back into the top spot from the No. 2 position. Danbury collected the other first-place vote to jump from fourth to second, while previous No. 1 Hall and Trumbull tied for third.
