Tolland Voters OK Budget, Fire Station Renovations

Tolland has a new budget for the next fiscal year and firefighters will have some new digs.

TOLLAND, CT — Voters in Tolland Tuesday endorsed a $57.2 million budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year, while also approving extensive renovations to the municipal fire facilities.

The budget passed 976-796.

The fire facilities renovations were approved with 1,261 yes votes to 510 no votes.

The turnout was 16.84 percent.

The budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year totals $57,214,882. That's an increase of 1.81 percent, or $1,032,385 over the current year.

The tax rate will increase to 37.11 mills, so residents now pay $37.11 for every $1,000 of assessed property.
