Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Cocaine Possession

The stop was made on I-84 in Tolland and the driver is now facing several charges.

A 26-year-old New Britain man is facing several charges after being stopped on I-84 in Tolland.

At approximately 8:08 p.m., a trooper conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2006 Nissan Maxima with illegal tints.

After questioning the operator, Ricardo Damone Howe, of 257 Oak St. in New Britain, consent to search the vehicle was given. During a search of the vehicle, narcotic paraphernalia was located and Howe was arrested.

During processing, approximately 3 ounces of suspected powder cocaine was located on Howe. He was charged with possession with intent to sell cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, operating without a license, and window tinting regulations.

Howe was held on a $50,000 bond and was due to appear at Rockville Superior Court on July 28.
