Traffic Stop Nets One and a Half Pounds of Marijuana
The stop took place in Tolland and a 26-year-old man is now facing several charges.

A 27-year-old Southbury man is facing several charges after being stopped in Tolland.
On Thursday at approximately 7:30 p.m., troopers from Troop C were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on I-84 westbound when they observed a blue Ford Fusion travel in the right shoulder as it exited the highway.

Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 195 in Tolland. Upon speaking with the operator, troopers detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and initiated an investigation.
With the assistance of a State Police K9 team, troopers located approximately one and a half pounds of “high quality” marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.

Troopers seized the marijuana as evidence and transported it to Troop C. The operator, Jameson Douglas Irvine, of 857 Reservoir Rd., was also taken into custody and transported to Troop C.
He was charged with possession of marijuana with Intent to sell, possession of over 4 ounces of marijuana, and driving in improper kane.
Irvine was held on a $250,000 bond and was due in Rockville Superior Court on Friday.
