Tree Falls, Takes Down Wires in Tolland
A portion of Ellington Road was closed Thursday night after a tree fell and took some wires with it.
TOLLAND, CT — A portion of Ellington Road was closed Thursday night after a tree fell and took some wires with it, Tolland Fire Department officials said.
The incident took place at about 7 p.m., fire officials said.
High tension wires were on the ground near the interchange with Shenipsit Lake Road, according to fire officials

Residents were able to get to their homes from the Ellington side but the Tolland side of the road was closed while a crew from Eversource Energy fixed the wires, fire officials said.
