Truck Bursts Into Flames On Highway In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A tractor-trailer became engulfed in flames on Interstate-84 over the weekend.

The incident was reported by Tolland fire officials at 6:40 p.m. The truck managed to pull over to the right shoulder on the westbound side of the highway, just before Exit 68, fire officials said.

The shoulder, the right lane and the center lane were closed for about three hours while a state DEEP is on scene to offload the truck's remaining fuel, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, authorities said.
