  • Happy Valentine’s Day (unless you hate this day). Has the holiday become as boring as a Soviet fashion show? That’s what as she dissects a holiday that has long been clichéd. For those less cynical, here are that ought to make your significant other pleased.
  • Are you miffed at the recent assessment of your home? You can a up until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22. E-mailed forms are not accepted, so act quickly if you’re concerned about your property taxes.
  • Mark your calendar if you want to have a say on the future of Baron’s South. The town wants to adjacent to the Center for Senior Activities on Imperial Avenue into senior affordable housing and a medical facility. If you want this to happen, or if you have concerns, speak up at the Planning and Zoning Commission hearing on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. The plans are still not finalized, but the commission be hearing about proposed changes to zoning regulation that would permit the facilities.
  •  If you’re curious to know who pays the most taxes in town, which is a nice mix of mansion owners and enormous businesses. Without such wealthy taxpayers, how would the town pay all its great services?
