Drivers Injured In 2-Vehicle Westport Crash: FD

One of the drivers required extrication from the vehicle, according to Westport Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Gootman​.

WESTPORT, CT — The drivers involved in a two-vehicle crash in Westport on Tuesday suffered not life-threatening injuries requiring treatment at an area hospital, according to Westport Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Gootman.

The crash occurred at about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Lincoln Street, and firefighters needed to use hydraulic rescue tools to extricate one of the drivers from a vehicle, Gootman said.

Firefighters from two engines, one rescue truck, and the Shift Commander responded to the scene.
