VIDEO: Ferrari Delivered to Westport Following 3,000-Mile Road Trip

More than 3,000 miles of road stretch between Westport and Ferrari of San Francisco, where the car was purchased.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti almost made it to its new home, but the delivery was interrupted when the 18-wheel truck it came in on was too tall to drive under the Metro North Railroad underpass on Saugatuck Avenue.

The new owner of the four-seat sports car was called Tuesday morning to the parking lot at 60 Church Street, the former location of the Blu Parrot, to take take delivery and sign for the car.

The owner, a Westport resident, said he purchased the car from the dealership without seeing or driving it.

The exotic car comes equipped with a 5.7 liter V-12 engine that sends 540 horsepower to its rear tires. It's capable of achieving 200 miles per hour, and because it has four seats, it has room for the family, too.

The car had only 5,000 miles on the odometer when it was delivered, according to its owner.
