Westport Man Dies From Injuries In Westport Crash: Update

The 25-year-old victim was pronounced dead on Monday afternoon. BREAKING.

WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Westport man died of injuries he sustained Monday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bulkley Avenue North and North Sasco Common in Westport, according to police.

Peter Greenberg, who was walking on Bulkley Avenue North at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital. The driver of the vehicle that struck him has not been named, but that individual remained at the scene and is cooperating with police

"As previously detailed, the roadway remains closed as of this writing to facilitate the investigation," wrote Westport police in a statement. "It is currently estimated that all affected roads will re-open to traffic at approximately 5:00pm. A NIXLE advisory message will also be sent out at that time."

Original story: The crash occurred at about noon and resulted in the temporary closure of Bulkley Avenue North - between Fairport Road and Brook Lane - to all traffic while Westport police investigate.

"The operator of the vehicle had been traveling northbound on Bulkley Avenue North at the
time of the collision," wrote Westport police in a statement. "The operator has been identified and remained at the scene to speak with the responding officers."
