Westport Coronavirus Updates: On-Demand Rides Start March 30
The Westport Transit District is temporarily replacing commuter routes with town-wide on-demand service.

March 27 2020
Westport, CT - The Westport Transit District provides public transportation in the Town of Westport with minibuses operated by the Norwalk Transit District. Its services include commuter shuttles operating to and from the Saugatuck and Greens Farms rail stations and daytime Door-to-Door transportation for seniors and residents with disabilities.
Temporary changes to commuter shuttle services
Due to the COVID-19 virus and governmental mandates, only people with essential jobs are currently commuting to and from their places of employment. To most effectively serve Westport residents and employees during this period, starting Monday, March 30, 2020, Westport Transit will temporarily replace its existing commuter shuttle service with an on-demand door-to-platform minibus service operating between any Westport location and the Saugatuck and Greens Farm stations (to and from the stations). Until further notice, this shuttle service will operate during peak commuting hours on Monday - Friday as follows:
· Morning pickups between 5:45 AM and 9:45 AM
· Evening pickups between 3:15 PM and 8:00 PM
Drop offs and pickups at the Saugatuck station will be on Franklin Street near the corner of Railroad Place (the current location for the S2, S3 and S4 shuttles).
Drop offs and pickups at the Greens Farm station will be in front of the station house.
Should commuters wish to arrange a ride to or from any Westport location and the Saugatuck or Greens Farms stations, please call Norwalk Transit at 203-299-5180 at the times listed below and provide the pickup time, origin and destination of your desired ride.
· Morning commute: Please call the previous day between 8:00AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. For a Monday pickup, please call by Saturday.
· Evening commute: Please call at least 45 minutes prior to the requested pickup time.
Depending upon demand, there may be other passengers on the minibus and pickups may be up to 30 minutes later than the requested pickup time.
