Westport Little League Advances to New England Region Final
They'll play Lincoln, R.I. on Saturday for the title game and the chance to head to the Little League World Series.
Westport Little Leaguers defeated Saco, Maine 3-0 to advance to the New England Region Final on Saturday.
Max Popken led the team's offensive charge with a two-run homerun in the first. Ricky Offenberg scored the team's third run in the second after Chris Drbal reached on a fielder's choice to shortstop.
Starting pitcher Harry Azadian went four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Chad Knight picked up the last inning and a third in relief and struck out two. The pair held Saco, Maine to just four hits and no runs for the 3-0 shutout.

Westport will play Lincoln, Rhode Island Saturday at 7 p.m. in Bristol for a chance to go to the Little League World Series.Â
