Westport Little League Finishes Regular Season
Several Little League baseball teams took home regular season championship trophies in their respective divisions in May.
From Westport Little League: A-ball (3rd grade)
The A-Ball (3rd grade) champions are the Reds. The Reds were 7-2 in the regular season and went 4-0 in the playoffs. In the finals, they beat the Mets 10-2 to win the championship.
AA (4th grade)

The AA (4th grade) champions are the Brewers. The Brewers beat the Rays in the finals 8-1. They went 6-3 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs.
AAA (5th grade)

The AAA (5th grade) champions are the Pirates, which went 3-1 in the double-elimination playoffs. In the final game, they overcame a 5-0 deficit to come back and beat the Giants 8-5 and take the crown.
Majors (6th/7th grades)
The Majors (6th and 7th grades) champions are the Red Sox.
Despite finishing the regular season in sixth place, the Red Sox won the Majors championship with a masterful performance against the number-one-seeded Yankees. The Red Sox triumphed in the finals with back-to-back wins 4-0 and 6-1 (double-elimination playoffs) using a combination of stellar pitching, stout team defense, and clutch situational hitting. In the elimination game prior to the finals, the Red Sox beat the Royals 6-5 in dramatic fashion with a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth.
