Westport Republican Town Committee Holds Annual Spring Gala

The ceremony will honor outstanding Republicans in the community and give residents a chance to meet with local candidates.

From The Westport Republican Town Committee: The Westport Republican Town Committee has announced it will host its annual Spring Gala on Friday, June 16 from 7–10 p.m. at Christ and Holy Trinity Church’s Branson Hall in Westport. This year’s dinner and awards ceremony will honor three Republicans who have gone above and beyond the ordinary to serve and improve the Westport Community: Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe, who will be honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award, Westport Board of Education member Jeannie Smith, and Former Westport Republican Town Committee Chairman Pete Wolgast.

“We are so fortunate in Westport to have such dedicated, talented public servants that serve our town with such distinction,” remarked Karen Kleine, Co-Chair of the 2017 Westport Republicans Spring Gala. “They are energetic, selfless civic leaders who exemplify hard-work, sacrifice and commitment to our community.”

Among those scheduled to attend are Westport Second Selectman Avi Kaner, State Senator Toni Boucher, State Senator Tony Hwang, State Representative Gail Lavielle, and several candidates interested in running for statewide office in 2018, among others.
