Westport School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Westport is August 31. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Westport Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/31: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/13: No School for Students (Staff Development Day)

November

• 11/7: No School for Students (Staff Development Day)
• 11/22: Shortened Day
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Years Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Staff Development Day)
• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (February Recess)

March

• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/9 - 4/13: No School (Spring Vacation)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/18: Last Day for Students and Teachers (With No Snow/Emergency School Closing Days), Graduation Day, Shortened Day for Students
