The town of Westport is currently hiring an Administrative Secretary.Â
The Administrative Secretary supports day-to-day activities in the First Selectman’s office and serves as a central contact for information about the town. This position serves as the office receptionist and handles customer service issues. The objective is to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the office, according to a release from the town.
Job Requirements: The Administrative Secretary – Selectman’s Office receives oral and written instructions from the Office Manager; plans and organizes work according to established or standard office procedures; determines priority of work tasks.

- Associate degree highly preferred;Â
- Four years' experience or three years plus in an administrative secretary position preferably in a municipal office;Â
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook; proficient typing skills - 70WPM; knowledge of Munis is a plus;
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills;Â
- Ability to communicate effectively; Must be competent and confident
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize to meet deadlines;Â
Background and reference checks required prior to employment. Salary Requirements $ 45,000.00 to $50,000.00Â
