​Westport Students Receive Music Scholarship

From Westport Public Schools: Emily Burke and John Corde, seniors at Staples High School, have been awarded the second annual Joyce and Bernie Zimmerman Foundation Music Scholarship at the Staples Symphonic Band and Orchestra concert this past week.

The scholarship is a special gift from the Zimmerman Foundation that is awarded to one male member and one female member of the Staples High School graduating classes of 2017, 2018 and 2019 who plan to major in music. Applications were subjected to a rigorous review process that included the evaluation of GPA in music classes; participation in various musical and civic experiences; and the completion of an essay.
