Westport Teen Awareness Group Deters Drinking & Driving

Students saw a wrecked Lincoln Navigator when they pulled into Staples High School Wednesday, a symbol the Staples High School Teen Awareness Group (TAG) uses to deter drinking and driving.

Someone in the United States is killed in an alcohol related automobile accident every fifty-three minutes, according to a news release from TAG. Grim Reaper Day attempts to bring attention to that unfortunate statistic.

“Grim Reaper Day at Staples (is) a day dedicated to educating the student body of the dangers of drinking and driving, especially during prom season,” said Alexandra O'Kane, a senion at Staples who is involed with TAG.

TAG decorated both the inside and outside of Staples with messages designed to deter drinking and driving.
