Armwood High Defensive Tackle Honored As 2020 All-American
Armwood High School Hawks defensive tackle Clyde Pinder Jr. was honored as a 2020 All-American.
SEFFNER, FL — As part of the All-American Bowl Road to the Dome tour, Armwood High School Hawks defensive tackle Clyde Pinder Jr. was honored as a 2020 All-American by classmates, teammates, family and friends at the high school in Seffner Friday.
At the schoolwide assembly at Armwood, Pinder received his honorary All-American jersey. Pinder and the Hawks went on that night to best the Bloomingdale High School Bulls in the Class 7A high school football state championship semifinals 20-9. Pinder had three solo tackles during the game for a total of 45 career tackles.
At 6 feet 3 inches and 305 pounds, Pinder is a three-star recruit and verbally committed to the University of North Carolina. He is one of eight Florida athletes selected to play in the 20th edition of the All-American Bowl in the East vs. West matchup on Jan. 4 in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

“It feels good, all the hard work I put in paid off by receiving this jersey," said Pinder. "This is all overwhelming because I never thought I had this in me."
Pinder was selected by the All-American Bowl Selection Committee, consisting of the All-American Bowl and 247Sports. All-Americans are eligible for the All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award, the Anthony Muñoz Lineman of the Year Award, the Defensive Player of the Year Award, the All-American Bowl Man of the Year, the All-American Bowl MVP Award.

Only 100 football players receive the honor of putting on the All-American Bowl jersey each year. Each player selected to participate will culminate their high school careers at the All-American Bowl.
The Bowl will be nationally televised live on NBC at 1 p.m., and will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players.
The All-American Bowl is annually the most-watched, most-talked about and most-prestigious high school all-star event with more than 4,500,000 unique television viewers and 25,000 in attendance.
