Beware: Hillsborough School Buses Hit the Road Wednesday

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is asking motorists to exercise caution as kids head back to class.

TAMPA, FL — As thousands of Hillsborough County school kids prepare to return to class Wednesday, Aug. 10, the sheriff’s office is asking motorists to watch out for buses and the children who ride them.

“Our deputies will be out in force, in patrol cruisers, motorcycles and unmarked vehicles keeping watch for motorists who don’t know and don’t heed state law regarding stopping for a school bus,” the sheriff’s office warned in a Tuesday email.

To help motorists brush up on the rules, the sheriff’s office has put together a public service announcement video. The YouTube short provides motorists all the rules of the road they need to know to safely navigate school-related traffic.
