Boyfriend Detains Girlfriend, SWAT Team Responds
Man reportedly refuses to let girlfriend leave their Cypress Trace apartment in Brandon, then changes his mind after a SWAT team responds.

The SWAT team was called out to Cypress Trace Apartments in Brandon on July 24 after deputies received word that a man would not let his girlfriend leave the premises, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies first arrived at 810 Providence Trace Circle after they received a call of distress from a third party. The report adds that once on the scene, at about 3:10 p.m., deputies "began communicating with the male subject" who was refusing "to allow his girlfriend to leave the apartment."
Deputies reportedly also spoke the girlfriend.
The SWAT team was called to the scene about three hours later. After that, the man reportedly surrendered.
Charges were forthcoming for Americo Gomez-Figueroa, 37, who lives with his girlfriend, Judith Dempsey, 43, at 810 Providence Trace Circle, according to the report.
