Brandon High Teen Struck By Car, In 'Stable' Condition
Two teens, one on foot, were involved in a traffic accident at Parsons Avenue and Summerfield Way early this morning, Oct. 9.

A 15-year-old Brandon High School student was in stable condition, with non- life-threatening injuries, after being struck by car crossing Parsons Avenue just before dawn this morning, Oct. 9, according to an 8:39 a.m. report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The student, identified as Andrew C. Owens, was crossing from east to west, "in the inside lane of the northbound lane," when the accident occurred. Owen reportedly was struck by a 2-door, 2000 Honda Accord driven by Benjamin A. Bell, 17.
Owens reportedly was headed west at Parsons Avenue and Summerfield Way, near the Brandon Oaks Apartments. A Tampa Bay Times report noted that Owens was aiming "to catch a ride to Brandon High School" when he was struck at around 7 a.m. and that "from appearances at the scene, he might have been dragged some distance by the car."
