Brandon Man Drove To St. Pete To Have Sex With 14-Year-Old: Police

The suspect had been talking to a 14-year-old girl through social media and then through text messages.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL ? A Brandon man is accused of driving to St. Petersburg to meet a 14-year-old girl he met online for sex, a St. Petersburg police arrest affidavit said.

Glenn Maurice Wade, 63, faces charges of transmission of harmful material to a minor, traveling to meet a minor, unlawful use of two-way communication device, and seduction of a child using internet or elect, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police arrested him on April 20 at an undisclosed St. Pete location at 8:54 a.m, the arrest affidavit said.

Wade bonded out of jail at 11:47 a.m. the day of his arrest, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrest records.

The arrest affidavit made these claims: "The defendant (Glenn Wade) engaged in numerous sexually explicit conversations with whom he believed was an underage girl on a social networking application using his cellular phone. Wade was instead talking to an undercover detective. The defendant had knowledge the child was a minor."
