2 Killed In 3-Car Crash On Ruskin Road: Troopers
A Ruskin man was killed Tuesday night following a crash with two cars when his car hit a tree, flipped over and burst into flames.
RUSKIN, FL — A 19-year-old Ruskin man was killed in a car fire on College Avenue Tuesday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The victim drove his car northbound on Sixth Street Southeast near East College Avenue at 11:35 p.m. when he pulled onto East College Avenue in front of two cars that were driving next to each other in the westbound direction, authorities said. The two cars smashed into the passenger side of the Ruskin man's car. One of the cars, driven by a 21-year-old Wimauma man, and the victim's car were forced through a nearby fence and into a yard after the initial crash. Both cars wrecked into a tree, and this caused the victim's car to flip over and catch fire, troopers said.
The Ruskin man was pronounced dead at the crash location, deputies said. A passenger in the Wimauma man's car died Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. from her injuries in a nearby hospital, detectives said.
