Deputies Locate 2nd Suspect In Brandon Mall Shooting: Sheriff
The search for a man who got away Monday after authorities accused him of pointing a gun at an officer then shooting at them has ended.
BRANDON, FL ? Jaycob Riley, the second suspect deputies searched for following a shooting that occurred outside Westfield Brandon Mall was arrested late Wednesday night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Riley faces the below listed charges, deputies said:
- Attempted Murder in the first degree premeditated firearm - discharge (law enforcement)
- Robbery with a firearm ($750 or more but less than $20,000)
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Shooting at, within, or into a vehicle (occupied)
Riley and another suspect, Jordan Garcia, 19, met with an undercover deputy Monday at about 4 p.m. in the Westfield Brandon Mall parking lot near Macy's for a gun transaction, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The deputy had arranged for the meeting to occur inside his civilian car, the sheriff's office said. He wanted to help get more illegal guns off the street. Following the transaction, one of the suspects is seen on a dashboard camera pointing a gun at the deputy trying to rob him. The deputy complied.
Backup officers moved in to arrest the two suspects, and both of them began to run, deputies said. Riley is accused of firing multiple shots at officers. Deputies weren't able to stop him, and they did arrest Garcia on charges of armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and dealing in stolen property.
