HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 46-year-old Zephyrhills man is in critical condition when he was in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning on Interstate-4 in the Thonotosassa area, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A white vehicle that was described by witnesses as either an SUV or pickup truck sideswiped the victim's blue 2003 Infiniti on I-4 westbound near the Thonotosassa exit at about 6:40 a.m., according to troopers. The Infiniti flipped over during the crash. The other vehicle sped away. Authorities said the victim was last known to be in critical condition at a local hospital.

Detectives are asking drivers to be on the lookout for a vehicle that matches the above description with left side damage and blue transfer paint. If you see this vehicle, call FHP at 813-558-1800 or *347.
