Fire Rips Through Valrico House After Grill Left Unattended

VALRICO, FL ? A home at 1909 Bow Court in Valrico off North Valrico Road sustained heavy smoke and fire damage Tuesday after a fire broke out around 1 p.m.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews performed an aggressive interior attack which effectively knocked the blaze down within 10 minutes. Additional units supplied water to Engine 18, assisted with firefighting and performed searches of the home.

There was no one home at the time. A firefighter suffered a minor injury at the scene.

The cause of the fire was an unattended grill near the home, said fire rescue officials.
