Hillsborough County Labor Day Closings

Find out what Hillsborough County offices and programs are closing for the Labor Day holiday.

Most Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day federal holiday.

Closed facilities include the administrative offices of County government, all libraries, recreation centers, Head Start/Early Head Start centers, Community Resource Centers, and senior centers and nutrition sites.

There will be no solid waste collection (including garbage, recyclables, and yard waste) in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Service Area, which also includes Tampa Palms, Hunter’s Green, and New Tampa. For customers whose collection day falls on Monday, normal service will resume on the next scheduled day for pickup of those items.

Conservation parks and dog parks will be open. Veterans Memorial Park and the Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum will be open regular hours; however, Veterans Services Officers will not be on duty that day.

  • The Pet Resource Center (normally closed on Mondays). A limited number of animal safety and enforcement officers will be on duty for emergencies only via the main number at (813) 744-5660.
  • The Center for Development Services.
  • Hillsborough County’s Customer Service Center, (813) 272-5900.
  • The Sunshine Line transportation service.
  • The Public Utilities Department customer call center and water/wastewater customer service centers in Northdale and Brandon. Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be directed to (813) 744-5600. The Water Quality Hotline at(813) 264-3835 is answered 24 hours a day.
