HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- Hillsborough County Consumer & Veterans Services and the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County will host their 22nd annual Memorial Day weekend observance on Sunday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park and Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum, 3602 U.S. 301 N. in Tampa.

The community is invited to join in honoring U.S. military men and women from all branches of service who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This year’s keynote speaker is Brigadier Gen. Johnnie Johnson Jr., deputy director of operations at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), MacDill Air Force Base. Gold Star family members also will offer perspectives on the meaning of Memorial Day.

In addition to a color guard, rifle salute, wreath ceremony and playing of Taps, the event will feature refreshments and patriotic music. Bleacher seating will be available; attendees also are welcome to bring lawn chairs.

Admission to the park and museum are free.
