New at Dunkin' Donuts is a breakfast sandwich featuring bacon and fried egg between a sliced glazed doughnut, and the question is, how good is it?
Signs in the eatery, such as the one posted here, from the Dunkin' Donuts in Brandon, at 808 East Bloomingdale Ave., herald the joining of a pepper-fried egg and cherrywood-smoked bacon between two slices of glazed doughnut.
Noted as having 360 calories, the offering is 30 calories less than the turkey sausage sandwich touted as a way for people to eat healthy.
Sweet and salty, the new breakfast offering hit the menu in time for 2013 National Doughnut Day, June 7, and since then customers and dietitians nationwide have been weighing in on the virtues of the "Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich."
"It's not as salty as I thought it'd be, but you know what it really taste like? Pancake and eggs," said a fan of the sandwich to boston.com.
At lehighvalleylive.com, a dietitian questioned the merits of a "sugar, salt and fat" offering that creates almost an "addictive response" to such fare.
