Man Charged With Kidnapping, False Imprisonment Of Seffner Woman

The search is over for a suspect who is accused of kidnapping a Seffner woman May 9. Plant City police arrested him on grand theft charges.

SEFFNER, FL — A man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman at a Seffner home May 9 is in jail after the Plant City police pulled him over for driving a stolen car Tuesday night.

Cody Jackson, 32, a transient, had a fight with the victim at a Seffner home, and forced her into a vehicle following the fight, according to there Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He later stopped the vehicle and tied the woman's ankles and wrists with extension chords. When he stopped at a gas station in Citrus County, she escaped and got help.

HCSO deputies had been searching for him since that night. Tuesday night just before 7:46 p.m., Jackson is accused of stealing a silver Chevrolet Cobalt from a Circle K in Plant City. Plant City officers saw the car at the BP gas station, 2009 N. Wheeler St., Plant City. A man who matched the description of Jackson was sitting in the car with the door open, according to investigators. He tried to close the and drive away, but he was prevented from leaving by an patrol car that parked in front of the stolen vehicle. After the deputy ordered the suspect to get out of the car multiple times, he finally got out of it. He was arrested on the following charges, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office:
