Man Faces Tampering Charge In Connection With Burned Body: Cops
A man was arrested Saturday in connection with a missing Hillsborough woman whose body was found burned near the Skyway Bridge in St. Pete.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A 55-year-old man, Fred Williams, was arrested Saturday on charges of tampering with evidence in connection to a homicide case where a missing person was found burned in St. Petersburg near the Skyway Bridge June 9, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
A family became worried about their family member who didn't return home after leaving work from her security guard shift at Beach Walk Condominiums, 4349 Bayside Village Drive, Town 'N Country. Deputies found the victim's car at her place of employment at about 7 p.m., June 9. At the same time deputies investigated this missing person case, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue was extinguishing a fire in a wooded area near the Skyway Bridge. After the fire was put out, the fire crew noticed a body, and contacted the St. Petersburg Police Department. Preliminary investigative details identified the body as the missing security guard, detectives said.
