Plans For Thonotosassa Park Expansion By 36 Acres: County

Residents in the Thonotosassa area can give thoughts about the recreational space expansion project and the new library until Nov. 2.

THONOTOSASSA, FL ? Hillsborough County will potentially expand recreational space and the new library in Thonotosassa using 36 acres of nearby land, a news release said.

Thoughts are welcome from local residents on the proposed expansion from Oct. 25 through Nov. 7. The location, 10217 Main St., Thonotosassa, is on the north side of the existing Thonotosassa Park and Recreational Center on Skewlee Road.

Thonotosassa Projects ? Park Expansion and Library Replacement Consists of Two Parts:

  • Expand the existing Thonotosassa Park and Recreational Center to include new athletic fields, parking, walking trails, restrooms, and additional upgrades.
  • Relocate the existing Thonotosassa public library to be co-located with the expanded Thonotosassa Park. The new library is envisioned to be 15,000-18,000 square feet and provide additional amenities and resources within the larger facility.
