Possible Tornado Reported In Thonotosassa

THONOTOSASSA, FL — A possible tornado touch down in Thonotosassa was under investigation by local authorities Monday afternoon.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a damage assessment was under way in the area of Thonotosassa and Joe Ebert Road around 5:40 p.m. Monday. Reports of downed trees, powerlines and an overturned vehicle were filed with the sheriff’s office, the agency's Twitter feed said.

The sheriff’s office also reported heavy street flooding in the area, but says no injuries had been reported as of 5:52 p.m.
