Student Chefs Compete To Create Crazy Concoctions For Fair
High school culinary students were challenged to create crazy concoctions during the annual Fair-Tastic Food Contest.
TAMPA, FL — With just weeks before the start of the 2020 Florida State Fair, high school culinary students were challenged to create crazy concoctions during the annual Fair-Tastic Food Contest.
Each year, the Florida State Fair in Tampa hosts the contest for high school chefs, seeking the best recipes for tasty, fair-friendly foods. Students submitting the winning recipes have the opportunity to showcase their creations in the state fairgrounds demonstration kitchen during the Florida State Fair Feb. 6-17. Additionally, winners receive up to $75 in prize money, tickets, ride armbands for the fair and their winning recipes are included in a digital Florida State Fair Cookbook posted online.
Finalists from Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Manatee county schools participated in the judged event Jan. 11.
