Tampa Man Killed In Crash With Tractor Trailer On SR-60: Police

A 30-year-old man ran a traffic light early Saturday morning, and he was thrown from his car when he crashed into a tractor trailer.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL —A 30-year-old Tampa man was killed early Saturday morning when he drove in front of a tractor/trailer after running a red-light on Turkey Creek Road, authorities said.

As the 30-year-old drove his car southbound on Turkey Creek Road, a 62-year-old Lakeland man headed eastbound on State Road 60. The car didn't stop at the red-light, and drove in front of the tractor trailer at 4;54 a.m. where the two roads intersect. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man in the car was thrown from his vehicle. He later died at a local hospital, troopers said.

*Due to Marsy's Law, the Florida Highway Patrol will not release the names of those involved in the crash.
