If you haven't been paying attention lately, you might have missed the tearing down of the much smaller gas station that used to stand in its stead. (To refresh your memory, it looked a bit like the vacant gas station across the street.)

Brandon Patch and Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch reported recently on the spate of gas station and convenience store development along both Bloomingdale Avenue and Brandon Road/State Road 60, from U.S. Highway 301 to Lithia-Pinecrest Road.

Also in debate is the necessity for a RaceTrac gas station and convenience store at Lumsden Road and Kings Avenue, where activists are complaining against the use of wetlands for that purpose.

In short, gas stations are big news in the Greater Brandon area, with the arrival of Thorntons and WaWa to the mix.
