Trump Stumps For Florida GOP Candidates
With the Florida primary a month away, President Donald Trump will be in Tampa to stump for Florida Republicans.

TAMPA, FL – With the Florida Primary a month away, President Donald Trump will be in Tampa on Tuesday to stump for Florida Republican candidates, including the highly contested races for U.S. Congress and Florida governor.
During the rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds, Trump is expected to announce his support for Republican gubernatorial candidate U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), an endorsement he already posted on Twitter June 22.
There are just two Republican contenders for the post being vacated by Republican Gov. Rick Scott due to term limits. DeSantis, an Iraqi war veteran and former Navy Judge Advocate General, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012. He will face Florida Agricultural Commissioner Adam Putnam, R-Bartow, in the Aug. 28 Florida Primary.

Although Scott previously announced he won’t attend Trump’s rally due to a previously scheduled fundraiser in Clearwater that night, Trump is also expected to curry votes for Scott’s bid to unseat longtime U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL.
