Valrico Resident Earns Doctorate From University of Nebraska

BRANDON, FL - From the University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Cody Alan Welchons of Valrico was among 684 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during the summer commencement ceremony Aug. 12 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Welchons earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the Office of Graduate Studies.

Harris Smith, director of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at Nebraska and executive director of the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, delivered the commencement address. Roy J. Long, retired teacher and former Nebraska football player, received an honorary Doctor of Education.
